You Define You

Take a second and think of your most admired movie character, storybook character, superhero, video game character, or even their full story in general, keep it in mind for a second... I get it, the world sucks, bills suck, the neighborhood is dangerous, there’s discrimination, kids are a handful, nobody cares about me, they told you no, nobody supports me, there’s so much bullshit... I get it.. but what you need to realize is none of that says anything about YOU, none of it defines YOU. It all contributes to molding you but only you decide in which way, does it teach you to work harder, overcome and push through or does it make you decide to give up and use that as an excuse to point your finger at something when you fail or to make you feel better that you didn’t do more?.. back to that character/story, why do you admire them? Chances are it’s because they faced adversity, they had a battle to overcome, they had to keep pushing and never gave up, and did almost the impossible to overcome their situation.... deep breath... Now back to reality, somehow your situation doesn’t seem as bad anymore does it? It’s a small dose of perspective and realization that you know you are worth more, that you are capable of more, that you can handle more. So it comes to the point, will you let your circumstances empower you and propel you, or will you choose the path of excuses and give up?
YOU define YOU!
